Jeffrey Kaplan, M.D.
Dr. Kaplan has been honored by receiving “Top Doctor” award for 5 consecutive years by the Consumers’ Research Council in the Guide to America’s Top Ophthalmologists. He was also honored to be named in Connecticut Magazine Top Doctors issue.
After completing his ophthalmology residency at Downstate Medical Center in NYC, Dr. Kaplan was invited to join world renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Seymour DuBroff in the Greater Washington D.C. area studying and performing some of the most innovative ophthalmic surgical techniques including phacoemulsification cataract surgery.
To date, he has performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries. His practice includes the use of multifocal intraocular lenses to eliminate, or reduce, the need for glasses post cataract surgery. Dr. Kaplan has been invited to cities around the United States to teach instructional courses to fellow ophthalmologists in these latest techniques of cataract surgery and intra-ocular lens implantation.
Jeffrey Sandler, M.D.
Dr. Sandler was a Dean’s Scholar at Cornell University, before earning his medical degree with distinction, and completing his residency in ophthalmology at George Washington University Medical Center. “I consider it our responsibility to serve as our patients’ advocates in promoting quality medical and surgical eye care. Most, if not all, eye diseases are treatable and some are preventable if detected early. In our office, we have the technology to diagnose conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease in the early phases.” Dr. Sandler treats children as well as adults and seniors. He has volunteered in Africa to help treat blindness. His wife is a clinical psychologist who specializes in teen issues. They have two children.
Anthony Masi, M.D.
Dr. Masi is a native of Bridgeport, Connecticut. After attending medical school and completing his internship, he entered the US Army serving as a battalion surgeon in the 2nd Armored Division. He was accepted for an ophthalmology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas.
His training in ophthalmology occurred during the height of the Vietnam War where he took part in treating numerous battlefield casualties involving ocular injuries during the Tet Offensive. He was also chief of ophthalmology and otolaryngology at Fort Lee Virginia. After serving his country, he opened a solo practice in Bridgeport. He has been happily associated with the Eye Group of Connecticut since 2000.
